ROOM 01

THE

HISTORY

A luminous gallery that draws a timeline from the 1600s to the present day, highlighting all milestones in the history of Cantine Giacomo Montresor, which binds inextricably with that of Verona and the region.

ROOM 02

YESTERDAY’S

VITICULTURE

In the second room of the museum, we find a focus on winemaking tradition narrated through agricultural tools, from the early 20th century to the present day: old barrels, vats, crushers, ploughs, countryside tools and much more. This story is told by a virtual ‘farmer’ in the cellar who crosses the decades in a journey enriched by customs and popular culture.

ROOM 03

VALPOLICELLA

The third section offers an engaging look at Valpolicella in its entirety. Climate, landscape, grapes, winemaking tools and above all the drying process and the history of Amarone. It is testimony to the fact that wine is born from the land and the culture that surrounds it and that every Montresor bottle is a whole with the landscape from which it draws its nourishment.

ROOM 04

AROMAS

AND SCENTS

At the end of the tour, in the ‘Aromas and Scents’ room, there is an olfactory gallery where visitors can smell and recognise the scents of Amarone. On five cork stations resembling enormous corks, Satinate bottles rest. By pressing a button next to each of them, an aroma develops that recalls some of the scents found in Amarone. These range from floral hints to red berries to spicy notes such as pepper and hints of vanilla. The invitation, written in bright letters, says ‘Breathe in, capture the essence’.
